Lo1: Understand how sound elements are used across media industries
The music in this footage has a great impact on the audience in terms of significance of what is going on and builds the euphoric feeling with what is going on with the audience and how seeing the dinosaurs has an impact of the main characters. The music connotes to the audience a sense of adventure and that they are in a new and unfamiliar environment. The music bed runs throughout the clip and uses the gives indication when different things appear on screen i.e. you'll notice this when the shot of the security doors are closing the music becomes more of a lower tone do connote that it is still a very dangerous island and heps to create an enigma code and builds the suspense of what they find on the island.
Whist watching this interesting documentary about the right wing military i noticed how the use of the sound in the documentary uses sound to give significance to what is going on and what has just been said this is done using bed sounds and stings. i.e. when they preach their extreme views on gun control and religion. These sounds gives them a demeanour and sets the tone of their beliefs it also sets the tone of the film.
Looking at this seen from Luther i can see show silence is used along with foley sounds to build suspense in this dialogue scene for example at the beginning their is no bed music but they have used foley sound every time one of them is hit i.e. 04:07 (headbutt). They then use a bedding track when they start playing Russian roulette to built the intensity of the scene they also include foley sound of the revolver when he pulls the trigger, and when he is being arrested the music changes to a more upbeat and calmer to show that the situation has been resolved.
In this audio visual promo for Venom, their is allot of uses of sound to help build up the tension. They often use sting sounds between cuts as incidental sounds to bring attention to important pieces of dialogue. They then used a much faster bed music when the main character begins to appear infected to show an escalation within the narrative to the audience. We also hear foley sounds when he is using his 'super power' we hear foley sounds of the webs being retracted and people being thrown against walls along with the foley sounds of other things i.e. weapons being cocked, gunfire, windows getting smashed.
When analysing the sponge bob video i found that they use alot of foley sound i.e. foot steps and the door to the krusty crab opening, but the foley sound is also used to ad comical value i.e when he trips over and bounces on the floor and we hear a squishy noise. There is also a tropical bed noise that runs through alot of the scenes, which has connotations of an equilibreum, which is apealing to the younger viewer,
